How to Automate Your Hunter Douglas Shades
Hunter Douglas shades offer several different ways to provide light control and style to your home. Using PowerView® Automation to motorize your shades can transform how you manage natural light throughout your space. With automation, you customize get the amount of light you want throughout the day, and when you want privacy, you can access it easily with the press of a button or with convenient voice commands, too. What Can You Do When You Upgrade Window Shades with Automation?
Hunter Douglas shades operate by raising and lowering the fabric shade to customize the light to precisely where you want it. While they typically open from the top down, you can add a bottom-up feature for some shades. This allows you to block out part of your view, like the neighbor's unkempt yard, block the sun in the middle of the day, or keep people from being able to see in from the road.
Hunter Douglas PowerView® Automation allows you to conveniently maneuver these shades with the Pebble® remote, the PowerView® app on your tablet or smartphone, or with your smart home assistant when paired with the PowerView® Gateway.
These convenient systems allow you to open your shades from wherever you are. With a dual shade, you can add a second, independently operating shade of a different opacity than your first choice on one roller. The fabric vanes in sheer shades can also be operated with PowerView® Automation. You can determine the angle of the vanes by adjusting them with your app or remote.
Hunter Douglas Blinds Automation: What Can You Do?
Operating window shades with automation is different than operating blinds. While the shades will raise and lower, the horizontal blinds cannot be opened or shut with Hunter Douglas PowerView® Automation. Instead, when they are down, the slats twist to balance light and privacy. For both horizontal and vertical blinds, you can set the angle of the slats, decreasing or increasing it a little at a time. When you find your favorite settings, you can save them to return to.
